AP exams are college level exams, which are designed to test the academic rigour a student has gone through. AP exams earn you credits that you would have ideally earned after completing a course at College. APs act as a great differentiator during College Admissions. There are a total of 39 APs and these are held only once a year in May.

How to register for the APs?

Registering for AP Tests involves some key steps:

Select Your AP Courses: First, you must select your desired college major and based on your subjects and curriculum at school decide your APs.
Register on College Board: To initiate the registration process, students need to create a College Board account. This account will be the central hub for all AP-related activities.

Pay Exam Fees: Contact your AP Exam Centre and pay the fees.

When are the AP tests administered?

AP Tests are generally administered during the first two weeks of May each year. However, it’s essential to be aware of specific test dates, as some subjects may have alternate or late testing options. It’s crucial to plan accordingly and ensure you’re prepared for your chosen test date.

How are APs scored?

AP Tests are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score. Each exam consists of a combination of multiple-choice questions and free-response questions. Highly qualified AP examiners evaluate the free-response sections, and the scores are reported in July. Colleges and universities have their policies regarding how they grant credit and placement based on AP scores, but generally, higher scores are more likely to earn credit or advanced placement.
